About My Safe Spaces
My Safe Spaces is more than a startup. It is a movement to make mental wellbeing accessible, measurable, and human.
My Safe Spaces is an AI-powered mental wellness platform delivering measurable wellbeing outcomes across four verticals: Schools (SWISS: Student Wellness and Institutional Safety Standards), Personal, Workplace (CREW), and Professional development (ELEVATE). We combine human clinical expertise with technology, applied research through SWISS Labs, and CPD-accredited learning to support students, individuals, working professionals, and the institutions that serve them.
The Role
We are hiring a Content Specialist to own what My Safe Spaces publishes: the website, guides and explainers, social copy, campaign material, course and product content, and the recurring newsletters that go to schools, corporate clients, practitioners and individual users. You will hold the editorial calendar, write most of it yourself, and edit the rest into shape.
The subject matter is what makes this harder than a general content job. We write about student distress, workplace psychological safety, safeguarding, and what an AI tool can and cannot do for someone who is struggling. A sentence that is harmless elsewhere can do damage here, and an unsourced figure is a problem for a company selling certification. That is why a psychology background, or time writing in mental health, wellness or healthcare, matters to us. Clinical review is available, and you are expected to use it.
Where You'll Work · The Four Verticals
Schools · SWISS
- K-12 & institutions
- Teacher and parent material, and anything a school sends home to families.
Personal
- Individuals
- In-app copy for IntelliCare and Journi, plus the consumer newsletter.
Workplace · CREW
- Corporate teams
- Manager guidance, HR-facing explainers, and client rollout campaigns.
Professional · ELEVATE
- Practitioners & learners
- Course copy, PRISM case studies, and cohort communication.
What You'll Do
Content development and editorial ownership
- Own the editorial calendar across the four verticals, from brief to publication, on a schedule the rest of the team can plan against.
- Write and edit long-form and short-form material: website pages, articles, guides, explainers, one-pagers, scripts, and social copy.
- Keep a working style guide and hold people to it, so material written by different hands still reads as one organisation.
- Commission and edit contributed pieces from clinicians and external writers, and bring them to publishable standard without flattening the author's voice.
- Maintain a content library the sales and customer success teams can pull from without asking you first.
Newsletters and lifecycle email
- Plan, write and ship the recurring newsletters for schools, corporate clients, practitioners and individual users. Each audience gets material written for it, not one broadcast forwarded four times.
- Build onboarding, nurture and re-engagement sequences with sales and customer success.
- Track opens, clicks, replies and unsubscribes, report what they show, and change the programme accordingly.
- Keep consent records, suppression lists and a working unsubscribe path on everything sent at volume.
Clinical accuracy and safe messaging
- Route anything touching distress, self-harm, suicide, abuse or diagnosis through clinical review before it publishes.
- Apply safe messaging rules: no methods, means or locations, "died by suicide" rather than "committed suicide", and a route to help in the same view as any discussion of distress rather than a link in the footer.
- State plainly where AI support ends and a person takes over. This is a claim MSS makes about its product, and the copy has to keep it true.
- Source every metric, affiliation and outcome figure before it ships, or label it honestly as an estimate, a submission, or under evaluation. Text inherited from older assets gets the same check as new writing.
Search, social and distribution
- Run keyword research and on-page SEO for the site, and report what the traffic actually does rather than what was published.
- Adapt each piece for the channel it lands on instead of posting the same text everywhere.
- Work with design on visual treatment, within the MSS design standard and its contrast requirements.
Product and course content
- Support ELEVATE course material and PRISM case study write-ups, written to the standard CPD accreditation requires.
- Review IntelliCare and Journi conversational copy for tone, reading level, and language that respects the person on the other end of it.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Minimum 2 years producing content professionally, with a portfolio of published work you can talk us through.
- A background in psychology, counselling or a related behavioural science field, or comparable time spent writing in mental health, wellness or healthcare.
- Written English of publishable standard, with editing judgement as strong as the writing.
- Experience running a newsletter or email programme end to end, including list hygiene and performance reporting.
- Working comfort with a CMS, an email platform, and basic analytics.
- The organisation to work unsupervised and remotely, and the reliability to hold a publication schedule other people depend on.
Considered an Advantage
- Master's degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling or a related field.
- Experience writing for K-12 schools, EdTech or healthcare, in a setting where accuracy was checked by someone.
- Familiarity with safe messaging guidance, whether the WHO media guidelines or Indian press guidance on reporting suicide.
- SEO results you can evidence with numbers.
- Proficiency in Hindi or another regional Indian language, for material that reaches families directly.
- Experience with accredited course material, CPD or otherwise.
- Working design or video editing skill (Canva, Figma or similar) for turning a piece around without waiting in a queue.
